General
Ashford as been designatated one of the South East’s "boom" towns.
Ashford started as a market town, (the old market being located opposite the new county square extension)
Before becoming a railway town (The rail works located just south of the rail station either side of the Folkestone line)
But as times change, so has the Town. With a new rail service cutting journey times to London to just 33 minutes, and the investment into retail centres (County Square extension and Designer Outlet Village) Ashford has become more of a commuter town. There are over 31000 homes planned, with the hope of creating 28000 jobs. The growth of Ashford looks set to continue for the future
